Every steel structure stands on civil works. When the foundations and the steel are handled by different contractors, the interface between them is a common source of delay: holding-down bolts in the wrong place, levels out of tolerance, or slabs poured before the steel details were final. Our civil construction service removes that interface.
What we build
- Pad, strip and column foundations for steel frames
- Holding-down bolt installation, set out to the steel drawings
- Ground-floor slabs and concrete works
- Plinth walls and supporting masonry
- Site preparation and associated civil works
How we deliver it
We plan the civil works and the steel as one package. Foundation positions, bolt layouts and levels come from the same set of drawings the workshop fabricates to, so the steel lands where it should.
- Design coordination: foundations are designed for the loads the steel frame actually transfers to the ground.
- Setting out: grid lines, levels and bolt positions are checked before concrete is poured.
- Programme: civil works are sequenced so foundations are ready and cured when the steel arrives.
Soil conditions vary from site to site, so the foundation design depends on what is in the ground. Where needed we will recommend a soil investigation before the design is finalised.
Add civil works to your estimate
Our instant estimator lets you include civil works alongside the steel, so you can see a combined preliminary figure. Request a quote to get started, or contact us to discuss civil works on their own.
