Buildings change. A warehouse needs a mezzanine, a factory adds new equipment, a roof starts to leak, or corrosion appears where it should not. Our repair, modification and retrofitting service extends the useful life of existing steel structures, safely and with as little disruption as possible.
Typical work
- Strengthening frames to carry new loads, such as mezzanines, equipment, cranes or solar panels
- Extending existing steel buildings
- Replacing or repairing damaged or corroded members
- Re-roofing and re-cladding
- Adding openings, platforms, canopies and access structures
- Upgrading older structures to meet a new use
How we deliver it
- Assess: we inspect the structure and, where records are missing, measure what is there.
- Engineer: we check what the existing frame can carry and design the repair or strengthening needed.
- Plan: we agree a work sequence around your operations. We aim to keep the building in use where that can be done safely.
- Fabricate: new steel is made in our workshop to fit the existing structure.
- Install: our crew carries out the work on site, with temporary supports where the structure needs them.
Why engineering comes first
Working on an existing structure means working with unknowns: original drawings may be missing, and members may have been altered over the years. We do not guess. Every modification starts with an engineering check, so you know the finished structure will carry the loads you plan to put on it.
