The brief
The client needed the steel structure and roof for a commercial building in Mombasa.
The coastal location made durability a practical concern. Steel near the sea needs suitable protective coatings and roofing materials to resist corrosion.
What we did
- Steel structure: we provided the structural steel frame for the building.
- Roofing: we supplied and installed the roof sheeting over the steel frame.
- Installation: our crew erected the frame and roof on site, sequenced against the project programme.
Working on the coast, away from our Nairobi base, meant planning deliveries carefully, so that steel arrived on site marked and in the order the crew needed it.
The outcome
The client received a completed steel structure and roof, delivered by one contractor responsible for both.
